Why Should I Use Dermal Fillers Instead of Surgery?

Plastic surgery may seem like the only option to treat your skin concerns, and while it may give you results that last for many years, surgery can be a costly endeavor. There are other options that are not as invasive as surgery but will provide good results. Dermal fillers have been used for many years to treat many skin concerns. They have many benefits, including long-lasting results with little or no downtime. The procedures are shorter than surgery and have a lower risk. Dermal fillers could be the perfect skin treatment for you. At Premiere Aesthetics, we offer a range of dermal fillers, each with its own unique benefits. Contact us to schedule an appointment.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are a non-surgical injectable treatment that assists in the correction of wrinkles, fine lines, and acne scars. Dermal fillers can also increase volume in specific areas of the skin and give your skin a smoother appearance. This method is effective because it uses chemicals found naturally in your body. It can rejuvenate your skin and promote the production of collagen and other essential chemicals. It is becoming a popular treatment among many people seeking a quick and effective solution for their skin.

Different Types of Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers come in many variations. Each group of fillers is designed to effectively treat different areas of concern. The dermal filler that will best suit you will depend on your needs, and the severity of your skin concern. When you consult a healthcare professional, you can make an informed decision on what dermal filler to select to reach your cosmetic goals.

Bellafill

Bellafill is a type of Polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres treatment. PMMA is often used to treat medium to deep folds, furrows, and wrinkles. It is particularly effective in treating nasolabial folds but can also be used to fill out pitted scars and augment thin lips. This injectable treatment is considered semi-permanent. PMMA is often used instead of collagen replacement therapy to treat facial wrinkles.

Radiesse

Radiesse uses calcium hydroxylapatite to treat moderate to severe creases, such as nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and frown lines. This treatment is highly effective because CaHA is a mineral-like compound that is found naturally in the body. This treatment can also be used as a cheek filler and improve facial contours. Radiesse is a safe solution and does not require any skin tests. Because it does not use any animal products, it lowers the chance of allergic reactions in the skin. This filler is great because it gives your skin a fuller appearance without showing unnatural signs of the treatment.

Juvederm vs Restylane

Juvederm and Restylane are both hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers. These fillers belong to a group of injectables that are uniquely designed to treat particular areas of concern. High concentrations of hyaluronic acid are found in soft connective tissue and in the fluid that surrounds your eyes.

These dermal fillers are used in the treatment of:

Cheek depressions

Crow’s feet (the corner of your eyes)

Deep smile lines (lines that run from the side of your nose to the corners of your mouth

Acne scars, scars caused by burns or other wounds

Marionette lines

Redefine lip borders

Worry lines (lines that run across your forehead)

Smoker’s lines (lines that run across your mouth vertically)

Aquamid

Aquamid is a Polyalkylimide based injectable. It has little reaction to human tissue, making it biocompatible. This allows you to have the treatment done without needing a skin test. Aquamid does not contain any animal products and therefore lowers the chance of allergic reactions. This treatment stimulates collagen production, so a thin layer of collagen slowly forms over the treated area. It is highly effective in the treatment of deep wrinkles, such as nasolabial folds, depressed scars, and other facial lines. It may also be used to enhance cheekbones and jawlines, as well as replace facial volume. This treatment is also effective as a lip filler.

Sculptra

Sculptra is a polylactic acid that is injected into your face to promote your body’s natural production of collagen. This dermal filler is known as a stimulator and differs from other fillers. Results are not seen immediately but rather appear gradually over a few months after treatment because it stimulates your body’s own collagen production. Sculptra is non-toxic, biodegradable, and considered semi-permanent. It is known to provide effective results, particularly in the lower half of the face. Sculptra can be effective as a lip filler, it can also reduce laugh lines, and remove deep nasolabial folds.

A Dermal Filler for You

Each patient has their own unique skin condition. However, with the range of options available, you can be sure to find a dermal filler to suit your needs. Dermal fillers are low-risk treatments with little to no downtime. A dermal filler is an effective method of treating facial folds, scars, wrinkles, and deep lines.

All dermal fillers differ in longevity, chemical makeup, and degrees of softness. While softer fillers are generally used to treat the lips, sturdier fillers may be more desirable for the treatment of the cheekbones. Determining what dermal filler is best to address your areas of concern starts with a consultation.
